In the book "Cripple Creek Days", by Mabel Barbee Lee, there is a picture of Theodore Roosevelt and prominent Cripple Creekers on the 7th level of the Portland mine. It was taken in the Spring of 1901. The source is listed as the Pioneer's Museum, 215 S. Tejon, Colorado Springs, CO, 80903, 719-578-6650.
