Two different COUCH lines. May be connected:

Elizabeth COUCH born 1801 in VA or KY. Her parents were born in VA. She
married in 1821 in Madison Co, AL to Aaron ROOT. They moved to MS about
1830-36. She died 1891 Pontotoc Co, MS. Who were her parents?

Aaron ROOT was the 1st Sheriff of Pontotoc Co, MS and owned a stage line.
He died in 1838 and was listed as a "Major".

Thomas J. COUCH b. 1822 VA, md. about 1848 to Henrietta ROOT (daughter of
Aaron ROOT and Elizabeth COUCH). They lived in Hopkins Co, KY in 1850 with
James D. COUCH born 1812 VA. Thomas J. COUCH died before 1860, and their
children were put under the guardianship of their ROOT Uncle in MS. 1870
census, Henrietta ROOT COUCH was in Memphis, TN with 3 children.

Who were the parents of these COUCH'S?
