MAIDS FOR VIRGINIA IN 1621
Not bawds from the London streets and not slatterns
from the prisons of Bridewell and newgate, but women of
good repute.That is what the Virginia Company intended
to send to the colony in 1621 as prospective brides.
Lady number 26 that was sent was:
Elizabeth Day or Dag Aged 19: years borne in
Lymehowse recommended by Mr. Christopher Marten
and Sir Nicholas Couch.
