Diane,

For many years my family of Couches have been reported to have moved from
South Carolina (from Greenville/spartanburg Counties) to Tennessee. I know
that descendants of Joseph Elijah Couch moved from GA to Tennessee and I am
aware of another Couch (Jacob) in Greeneville, TN. Yet, I have not been
able to find my John Couch Sr, nor his sons Thomas, Jesse, & John Jr. These
gentlemen were counted in the 1800 Greenville, SC census and then found in
the Mississippi Territorial Census of 1809. So, if they were in Tennessee
they would have been there in Tennessee between 1803 when a son was born in
Greenville and by Jan 1809 when the Mississippi Territorial Census was
completed. In your research of the Couch line have you run accross any of
these Couches...John Sr, John Jr, Thomas and Jesse (who may have been b in
TN in 1805. Any help would be appreciated.
