Seeking any information regarding the Couch surname in Morgan Co or
Lawrence Co, AL in the 1850's-1900's. I find a Jonathan Couch, age 53,
(est. born 1797) on the 1850 Lawrence Co, AL census. Census lists:
Jonathan, age 53, born SC; wife Mary, age 40 born SC, (est. born 1810);
and Jonathan, age 12, born AL ca. 1837. Was this young Jonathan the same
one who married Martha E. Nesmith in 1861, Morgan Co, AL?

Trying to connect the young Jonathan Couch to Verlinda Couch Wilson,
wife of James Wilson. Ultimate goal is to see if there is a connection
between this James Wilson line and my Wilson surname.

Associated families connected to Jonathan and Martha Nesmith Couch are:
WILSON, NESMITH, WOODALL, VEST, HAMPTON, SIMS, MARTIN, RAINS, HARVEY,
MOSS, CRAFT, BREEDLOVE, LONG, MEANS, and possibly VAUGHN and BARRON.

These names are connected by various marriages occurring ca late
1700's-early 1900's into my Wilson/Nesmith/Woodall/Vest families.
Locations for some of these surnames include: GA; MORGAN CO, AL;
LAWRENCE CO, AL; IUKA, MISSISSIPPI; TISHIMINGO CO, MISSISSIPPI; and
counties in CENTRAL TEXAS.
