Hi All,
Lanita Sconce Miller, here....As most of you know, I have written [and
am still putting the final touches on] the Welcome K. BENNETT and Betsy
STOGSDILL BENNETT family tree book.
I know that some of you have already ordered a book because of its
inclusion of the DAVIS, STOGSDILL, RIMMER and COUCH families, but
thought I would mention that if you or anyone else that you know of
would be interested in obtaining a copy of the book, I am taking
reservations now. I will not make reprints, and will make very few extra
copies, so reserving copies are necessary. The books will be ready by
Memorial Day weekend for my Bennett Reunion.
To refresh your memory:
Elizabath "Betsy" STOGSDILL, was the dau. of William STOGSDILL [son of
Vachel and Susannah Bayless/Bayles STOGSDILL] .and Malinda COUCH [ dau.
of Moses and Elizabeth Lindley COUCH]. ....
Betsy and Welcome had a son named James Madison BENNETT.. This Bennett
married Ladora Olive "Ollie" DAVIS [dau. of Littleton H. and Jemima
MADDOX DAVIS]... this couple had a son, Willie, who mar. Mary Parthena
RIMMER...
If you are unsure of your connection to any of these, let me know, and
we'll figure it out..I do have quite a bit on the families and each
family has their own chapter that includes copies of old documents, with
the exception of RIMMER... we're still trying to figure out how my Mary
P. is connected to that one, since she was traded to the Ben COUCH
family [son of Simpson and Rebecca ROBERT COUCH] for medical supplies
when she was a young girl bef. 1880. [Simpson and Rebecca settled in
Oregon County, Missouri, by 1840, and were founding 'parents' of the
community of Couch in Oregon Co.]
The book is well over 500 pages, and contains pictures, obits, data, and
legal documents. If you are interested, let me know... I won't bug you
again regarding the book, just wanted to let each of you know about this
opportunity should you care....
If you do want a book, contact me privately, and I will send you more
details.
Happy Hunting!
