Agnes Carter Couch

Agnes Carter "Aggie" Couch, 78, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003,
in Richmond, Texas, after a short battle with cancer.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in the ballroom of Fort
Bend Country Club, Richmond, the Rev. Dave Davidson officiating.
Visitation and refreshments will follow immediately thereafter.
Casual attire is appropriate.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions
be made to the American Cancer Society.

Aggie was born to George and Dixie Carter on July 4, 1925, in Big
Spring. She graduated from Fort Worths Paschal High School in 1941
at 16, and from the Baylor School of Nursing in Dallas in 1946. For
several years she practiced as a registered nurse, with a surgical
specialization.

With her husband, Aggie was a charter member and builder of St.
Stephens Methodist Church in San Antonio where she taught Sunday
school.

Aggie was an avid golfer and supporter of golf. She was past
president of the San Antonio Womens Golf Association and the Texas
Senior Womens Golf Association. In 1967-1968, she was co-chair of
more than 250 women volunteers for the 50th PGA Championship held at
Pecan Valley Country Club in San Antonio. Aggie was twice a city
champion (San Antonio and Beaumont) and 12 times a club champion, and
made six holes-in-one during her golfing career.

Aggies family wishes to express its deepest thanks to Doctors
Jessica McKelvey, Mark Edwards, Ric Davis and Khaled Jabboury, and
their staffs for the loving care they provided Aggie during her
illness. Our thanks also for the love and support of Aggies many
friends and neighbors.

She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.

Survivors: Her loving husband, Bill Couch of Richmond; son, Randall
of Philadelphia, Pa.; sister-in-law, Margie Cole and husband, Wayne,
of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, Marion Couch of Weatherford; niece,
Nancy Webster and husband, Bob, of Bowie; niece, Carolyn Thompson of
Dallas; niece, Connie McKee and husband, Ronney, of Allen; nephew,
Rodger Couch and wife, Sherry, of Kaufman; nephew, Allen Rutledge and
wife, Mary, of Fort Worth; nephew, Steve Rutledge and wife, Esther,
of Aledo; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.
