Nancy,
Colorado Agricultural College was just across the border in Larimer County in Ft. Collins. It is now know as CSU or Colorado State University. I would look there too.

Thanks so much for your response and suggestions. Right now I'm in
the middle of the UNC site for Weld County. Will check out your site
and will see what I can find through the newspaper you mentioned.
These Baxter folks are in Weld County on both the 1900 and 1910
censuses and their son, Alfred, eventually went to CA. But someone
emailed me that he believed he lived not far from Alfred in CA and
that Alfred attended the college in or close to Weld Co and that every
summer, Alfred would return to Weld Co either to teach in the college
or take classes. Anyway, that leads me to believe that Alfred's
parents, Dora and Frank Baxter, still lived in Weld Co and probably
died there. At least that's the path I'm following right now.
Appreciate your help.
Regards,
Nancy

sure that there are any available before that date. Weld county used
to have an index up but the link has been dead for a while. I would
try two places. First the Weld County website. You would be amazed at
what you can find there. The second place would be to try and locate
where the Gibson 16-Pct was. If it was near Greeley, then if you can
come up with a better date than just after 1910, The Tribune might be
of help. They were started in 1871 and have as far as I know published
continuously since that date.

http://www.hollyhockfarms.com/coweld<http://www.hollyhockfarms.com/coweld<http://www.hollyhockfarms.com/coweld<http://www.hollyhockfarms.com/coweld>> I
have quite a few transcribed and listed, including many photos. Most
of these are not in the Colorado GenWeb archives Archives. Check
Boulder and Larimer Counties if you find that they were living near
one of the borders. Or of course there is Washington and Morgan
counties too. Lots of places to look before giving up. I don't have
precents listed, haven't come across a list so far of them or where
they were located, but I do have old maps on my website that might
help.
