Ever wonder where to find photographs of soldiers who died in World War I?
It seems our legwork was done for us by three veterans of the war who
spent two years compiling photographs of those who died in the war.

Soldiers of the Great War
pub 1920, Washington DC, Soldiers record publishing association.
Compiled by Haulsee, W.M., Howe, F.G. and Doyle, A.C.
Vol 1 Alabama - Maryland
Vol 2 Massachusetts - Ohio
Vol 3 Oklahoma - Wyoming with supplement.

The supplement in Vol 3 contains photographs from all the states sent by
relatives that missed the deadline for submission. Instead of refusing them
the staff created a last minute addition to volume 3.

According to CARL and Prospector, DPL (Western History) and the PPLD have
copies as do many of the university libraries including CC, UNC, CSU and
CU-Boulder.

Used bookstore prices quoted are about $250 for the set.

Ancestory has an index to the names, hometowns from each state available for
members but not the photographs.
