Subject: COX / SHARPLEY/ CRAWFORD

Hello

I am researching these three families who settled in St.
Giles
Township, Lotbiniere County, Quebec (south of the St
Lawrence River, below Quebec City):

David COX bc 1800, and his wife Annie CRAWFORD bc 1800, who
settled here in the early 1830's;

Thomas COX bc 1820, and his wife Jane SHARPLEY b 1821,
settled before 1845; and

Joseph COX bc 1810, and his wife Mary McGHEE also settled in

the early 1830's. Except for Mary McGHEE, all were born in
Ireland.

The census states the men were farmers, and the families
were Anglican. By 1861 and 1871 David and Thomas had moved
to Mountain Grove, Ontario (Olden Township, Frontenac
County), where many of their descendants remain to this
day. Joseph and his family appear to have stayed in St.
Giles.

It is believed that David, Thomas and Joseph were brothers
-- were they, and were there others? I would appreciate any

confirmation that these men were related, and also
information on any other siblings. Of course the real bonus

would be learning the county (and parish) of origin in
Ireland.

I would be pleased to hear from any descendants of these
Cox/Sharpely/Crawford families; have much information to
exchange.

Kellie in Ontario Canada
