Hello Cox folks:

I am on the Claiborne County, TN list -
We have a wonderful researcher who posts obituaries from time to time of
recent deaths of folks who have lived in that part of Tennessee, or have
relatives still in the area. Today she sent a notice that had a COX name
on it. Thought it might help someone researching this person's history.

WILLIAM COX
William Cox, age 92, of Atlanta, Ga. and formerly of Middlesboro, Ky.
was
born April 25, 1910 and passed away on March 21,2002.
He worked from cincinnati, Oh. for Silver Fleet Truck Line and moved to
Knoxville, where he worked at Harrison Construction Co. He worked for
Alcoa
in Suriname and Jamaica from which he retired.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Katherine Cox of Atlanta, Ga.; son,
Boyd
Cox of Smyrna, Ga. ; daughter , Rebecca Dawson of Atlanta, Ga.;
grandchildren: Christopher and Katherine Russell Cox, Katrina Noelle and
Jack Gardin, Frederick Dawson; great grandchildren: Christine Caroline
Cox
and Matthew Cox; sisters and husbands: Pat anct Wayland Carr of
Harrogate,
Mary and Bill Deavors of LaFollette; brothers and wives: Bob and Jean
Cox of
LaFollette, Dan and Jane Cox of Harrogate, Jim and Virginia Cox of
Maryville, Richard Cox of Harrogate, Harvey Cox of New Tazewell.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. March 25 at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Steve Parker officiating, Burial in Irish Cemetery,
Pallbearers: Boyd and Christopher Cox, Jack Gardin, Frederick Dawson,
David
Young and Wayland Carr.
