I have this that might help. It was given to me several years ago and I
don't have any other information. At the time, I saw photocopies of the
church records, but I didn't get copies of them. There was a letter from
the sisters of James (Cox) Baker, Jr pleading for him to come home to
claim his father's estate before it was lost.

FIRST GENERATION

1. Charles Cox died on May 14, 1784 in Battle, East Sussex County,
England.

Ann Eldridge was born in Battle, East Sussex County, England. Charles
Cox and Ann Eldridge had the following children:

2 i. Charles Cox Jr. was born on December 14, 1739 in Battle, East
Sussex County, England.
3 ii. Ann Cox was born on March 8, 1741 in Battle, East Sussex County,
England. Birth may have been 1742
4 iii. William Cox was born on July 8, 1744 in Battle, East Sussex
County, England.
5 iv. Edward Cox was born on March 22, 1748 in Battle, East Sussex
County, England. Birth may have been 1749
+6 v. James Cox (born on April 17, 1752).

SECOND GENERATION

6. James Cox was born on April 17, 1752 in Battle, East Sussex County,
England. He died on November 5, 1830 in Battle, East Sussex County,
England.

He was married to Jane Beaney on October 5, 1798 in Battle, East Sussex
County, England. Married by license Jane Beaney was born in Battle,
East Sussex County, England. She died in Battle, East Sussex County,
England. James Cox and Jane Beaney had the following children:

+7 i. James Cox Baker Jr. (born on January 20, 1799). (Changed his name
on arrival in New Orleans, LA, USA)
8 ii. Emily Cox was baptized on April 19, 1801 in Battle, East Sussex
County, England.
9 iii. Jane Cox was baptized on February 16, 1801 in Battle, East
Sussex County, England.
10 iv. Robert Cox was baptized on September 13, 1809 in Battle, East
Sussex County, England. He was buried on November 12, 1824 in Battle,
East Sussex County, England.

THIRD GENERATION

7. James Cox Baker Jr. was born on January 20, 1799 in Battle, East
Sussex County, England. He emigrated in 1811 from New Orleans, Orleans
Parish, LA. He served in the military in 1812. Was a Civilian
Volunteer in U.S.Army. Was a cabinet maker by trade, made gun stocks.
Was in the battle of New Orleans, 8 Jan 1815. He died on April 10, 1864
in Springfield Twp, Williams Co, OH. Court records, case 864, wife
appointed administratrix 16 Aug 1864

He was married to Priscilla Ann Ridenour Gould in 1838 in Ohio.
Priscilla Ann Ridenour Gould was born on June 10, 1812 in Lucerne Co,
PA. She died on March 6, 1894 in Solomon Twp, Phillips Co, KS. Died at
the home of son R.M.Baker, near Marvin, KS James Cox Baker Jr. and
Priscilla Ann Ridenour Gould had the following children:

+12 ii. Rev. Robert Miles Baker (born on October 24, 1840).

16 vi. Cornelius Rinaldo Baker was born on October 16, 1847 in
Junction, Pauling Co, OH. He died on July 22, 1918 in Bryon, Williams
Co, OH.
+17 vii. Frances Jane Baker (born on August 25, 1851).
18 viii. Louis Rodman Baker died in 1855 in Bryon, Williams Co, OH. He
was born on February 26, 1855 in Junction, Pauling Co, OH.
