Cay,

My Crawford ancestors moved from South Carolina (Pickens County perhaps)
to Alabama (Pickens, Tuscaloosa, or Fayette counties) around this time.
John Gorgas Crawford was born in North Carolina in about 1796. He moved
to South Carolina and married Elizabeth Willard, who was born in South
Carolina. They had a son Thompson, sometimes shown as Thomas, who was
born in South Carolina in 1831. He had moved to Alabama and married a
woman who was born there, Pernilia Johnson.

Do you know any of the children of the John Crawford family you
mentioned below?
