Jane and Laura CRAWFORD
Seeking the fate of Jane and Laura CRAWFORD. Jane was born 8 Jan 1812 and
Laura 24 Aug 1814, both in Bridgewater NH, the daughters of Thomas and Mary or
Polly (PEASLEE) CRAWFORD. After their father disappeared in 1819, they, their
mother, and three siblings were put out to vendue by the town. On 16 May
1820, Jane was bound to James HEATH until the age of 18 for $30. On 13 Mar
1821 Laura was bound to Major Enoch MELVIN until 18 for $19.
Their sister Cynthia was also bound out at the 13 Mar 1821 town meeting to
Jacob PEASLEE. She would later marry Aquilla EASTMAN and migrate to Waupaca
County WI.
Any help in determining the fate of Jane and Laura would be much appreciated.
