When looking for connections to your roots, don't forget the
individual county pages that are available for each state. These
are loaded with information and other links. Just about every
county in the US (and many foreign countries) are represented.

To check out individual states and then go to the counties of a
state, go to the US GEN WEB State Selection page at:
http://www.usgenweb.org/statelinks.html From here you can go to
any state and then to the individual counties of each state.
Most counties have places where you can post a query about
someone born/marriee/died in that county. They also will have
lots of great links to other resources about that county.
