Am so happy everyone has shared with me so many generations of CRAWFORDs.
It's always interesting. This is the first time I've been able to share my
ancestor, g-g-gf Mahalaleel Crawfords descendants. Maybe someone will see
them & help me over, under, around, or storming through my brick wall.
My contention is that Mahalaleel is the son of Hal CRAWFORD as listed on
Ancestral file as s/o John CRAWFORD b 1746, SC and wife Elizabeth ALSTON
Crawford, b 177?, SC (probably Marion Dist). My reasoning for this is that
Hal b 1780, or 1767 on one record (possibly 2 Hals?) would have been the
right age as Mahalaleel was b abt 1802 per 1850 & 1860 FL (Walton Co) FL,
census. This is further strengthened by the correspondence rec'd & source
material showing his children as listed below.
John CRAWFORD b 1746 was s/o James CRAWFORD & Kasiah (Cassia) SAUNDERS as
listed in Sellers' History of Marion County, SC, as well as Ancestral file
online & other researchers.
Would love to hear from anyone who has knowledge or would like to
exchange information on these CRAWFORDs.
