DEATHS from the Files of Old Georgia Newspapers

9/25/1834---Hon. WILLIAM H. CRAWFORD died 9/15 at Lexington. He was on
his way to Superior Court in Elbert Co when on Sat. morn Sept 13th, he
reached Valentine Meriwether's home & stopped there for the night. He
ate a hearty supper & later retired for the night, but within a few
minutes after going to bed he suffered a bad heart attack: however it
was relieved. He remained in bed attended by doctors. He was cheerful
as usual but vomited often. While the doctors were out of the room
discussing his case with each other about 3 AM on re-entering the room ,
they found him dead.
