Harold II was the s/o of Godwinson. Nobody knows who his mother was or who
Godwinson descended from. I descend from Maj. James Goodwin line of James
City Co., too. It
is believed that the Goodwins of Buckinghamshire may descend from Harold II.

<< I believe I have traced it back further up the chain. I will type it below

and see if anyone can see if I am mistaken or not. The following is based on

many various history books I have read.

Sweyn Forkbeard King of Denmark. 1'st Wife Gunhild

First son: Harald became King at death of father.

He died without issue.

Second son: Cnut in Danish Canute in English. Born around 995. Wife Elfgifu.

He had another wife. Co-ruled England and Scotland with King Edmund II unit

Edmund's death in 1016. Eventually Cnut became King of Denmark, Norway, much

of Sweden, England and Scotland. He died in 1035 in Shaftsbury Eng. and was

buried at Winchester.

His Children were: Harold I (Harefoot Godwin,

Hardecnut and Gunhild.

Harold's children were:

I. Leofwine,

2. Harold II Godwinson (Harold ruled England after the death of King Edward

the Confessor in 1066. Harold Godwinson was made King by Edward, and was

subsequently killed by William the conqueror (formerly William the Bastard)

in the Norman invasion of 1066. He would have beaten William has his troops

obeyed his orders. Probably for the better, as he was very cruel.

3.Edith, Queen of King Edward the confessor.

4.Tostig, killed in 1066

5. Gyrth, Your guess is as good as mine on this one.

Leofwine had Thor in Nordic (Thorlongus in Latin) He fled from William and

saved his life.

Thor had Swane in the Barony De Crawford? Creeford? 1089-1143.

Swane had Galfridus De Crawford. 1140-1161

Galfridus had Hugh.

Hugh had Galfridus

Galfridus had Reginald who had Sir John Crawford, the first time the

Crawford became the sir name of a person rather than the territory of a

person who resides there.

Swane also had a second son; Johannes De Crawford,

Who had Gualterus De Crawford, who had Sir Reginald De Crawford, who had

Hugh Crawford.

Thus, all the Crawfords in this tree descend from Thor, Thorlongus.

Sorry that I am consistently inconsistent in my listing methods.
