Dear Patricia,

I believe we may be Crawford cousins. Your William Crawford I believe is the brother of my James A. Crawford b. 17 Nov. 1800 near Buffalo Gap, Augusta Co., VA to Alexander Crawford and his wife Rachel Lesley. In addition to our two guys they had Mary(Polly) Crawford, Rebecca Crawford, Rachel Crawford and Alexander Crawford.

Was your William married to Nancy Anderson? My James A. Crawford married his and William's 1st cousin, Rachel Sawyers Crawford the daughter of John Crawford and Margaret (Peggy) Buchanan. James A. and Rachel S. had (one of the younger children) Isaac C. Crawford who married his cousin Joseph Clayton's young widow, Veii Ferrill Clayton and had my maternal grandmother, Julia Crawford. Julia was born in Kerr Co., TX on 12 July 1888. Julia was also one of the younger children. Her mother was an only child but both Julia and her father came from large families.

Would like to share info about the clan if you are willing.
