From the Compendium of American Genealogy VII

Crawford, John (1600-76) a cadet of the Kilbirnie Crawfords; from Ayrshire,
Scot to Jamestown VA 1643, setteled in James City Co' killed during Bacon's
Rebellion

followed by David of James City and then Capt David.

My thought is if there were a bunch of Davids then there must be a bunch of
Johns too. I have to see if I can find the copies I made when I went to
Williamsburg a few years ago.
