MCDONALD, KATIE CARPENTER
A resident of Woodhaven, she died Friday, April 23, 1999, at Hood Memorial
Hospital, Amite. She was 89 and a native of Washington Parish. Visiting at
Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.
Visiting at Woodhaven Baptist Church, 8:30 a.m. until religious services at
1 p.m. Sunday. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by two sons and
daughters-in-law, Harry and Ethel McDonald, Woodhaven, and Marlin and
Harriet McDonald, Colyell; six grandchildren, Danny, Jay, Dwayne and Bryan
McDonald, Theresa Hugins and Sherry M. Baham; 10 great-grandchildren, Kip,
Naomi and Jalynn McDonald, Kaelon and Gabin Hudgins, Ashley, Justin, Bryan
Jr., Rikki and Marlee McDonald; and a daughter-in-law, Ventriss McDonald,
Independence. Preceded in death by husband, Ernest W. McDonald; two sons,
Ernest Merle and Arthur McDonald; a daughter, Lenora McDonald; parents,
Henry and Martha Anthony Carpenter; four sisters, Ollie C. and May C.
Creel, Lillie C. Mizell and Hattie Carpenter; and five brothers, Ambrose
Carpenter, Joe Tuttle, Ellis Carpenter, Chester Carpenter and Johnny
Carpenter.

Ponchatoula -- Elma Lee Willie Landry, 74, a native of Folsom and longtime
resident of Ponchatoula, died Monday, March 7, 2005. Survivors include her
son, Jimmy Creel; three daughters, Shelbie Marsh, Peggy Bankston and Jackie
Clarke; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Jimmy
Willie; and one sister, Dorothy Primes. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Roy Joseph Landry Sr.; her brothers, Earl, Curtis, Prentiss and
Julius Willie; and one child, Mollie Lou Creel. Visitation will be tonight
from 6 to 9 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington, and Thursday from
9 a.m. until a funeral Mass at 11. Burial will be at Willie Cemetery,
Folsom.
