Fulton, Itawamba County, MS. -- On April 11,2008, 39-year-old William Creel
of Golden, Itawamba County, MS died when his safety harness got caught up in
machinery while 30 feet in the air. The incident occurred Tuesday at Mueller
Copper Tube Tuesday afternoon. This is the second death at the plant this
year.

William Ray Creel
GOLDEN - William Ray Creel, 39, died April 11, 2008, in Fulton. He was born
Oct. 28, 1968, in Red Bay, Ala., to William Hale and Joyce Embrey Creel. He
worked in the maintenance department at Mueller Cooper Tube in Fulton for 21
years. He was president of the Local 8420 Steelworkers Union. He was a
member of Golden Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Melissa Creel of Golden; two
children, Emile Creel and Gage Creel; his mother, Joyce Creel of Golden; his
sister-in-law, Rebecca (Mike) Bridges of Iuka; a sister-in-law, Michelle
(Kevin) Creekmore of Huntsville, Ala.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hoyt
and Peggy Daniel of Pleasant Site, Ala.; two nieces, Alexandria Rast and
Anna Creekmore; two nephews, Adam Rast and Ben Creekmore and a host of
aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be today at 3 p.m. at Golden Central Baptist Church with Bro.
Mickey Trammel and Bro. Jackie Hastings officiating. Burial will be in
Belmont City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home in Belmont is in charge of
arrangements.
Pallbearers will be David Wigginton, Mickey Tate, Hank Whitehead, Dale
Swindle, Joe Taylor and Jack Harrison.
Visitation will be noon until service time today at Golden Central Baptist
Church.
