Mine too Nancy.
It is the most loneliest sound in the world and also to see the 21
Gun Salute.
It makes you want to cry just listening to it.

At my Dad's-when they played the Taps , the man who was playing them
was back in the trees and you could not see him all you could is hear
was the music.
Then the folding of the Flag and the presentation to the family was
also something I will never ever forget.

When we heard them on base they never seemed to sound so lonely as
they sound at a funeral/.
I can not discribe how I felt...6 days after that my oldest son Wayne
was born.

My Dad would never talk to much about his experiances during those
times.
The one time he did , I wish I had not listened , because that has
stayed with me the things he talked about.
I think in away I am Thankful mine will never walk in his shoes for
that reason.

Although my brother has been in the Marines and also the Army
Reserves and I have a nephew in the Army
today who will be going to Japan in the next few weeks and If it was
demanded of mine today I would want them to go...but I still do not
want them to. Thats all of us Mother's and if our choice --Our's
will never have to face the evil Our Father's had to.
