Lynda,This is what I am still looking for. I have my John's branch almost
completed, but all I have on Grand dad Solomon's other children is the
children's names that are in his bible and military archives. Even, Cousin
Lorean Crocker Shugart doesn't have Betsey's spouse on her DAR References for
Lineage
application. She has her anscentor, Wm. Crocker /Cloe Smith, Patsey
Crocker/David Robinson, Nancy Crocker/William Gore , and Susannah Crocker/
Francis Felix Mulligan. These ,she didn't have spouses list; Dorcas,
Rhoda,Betsy, James, Arthur, and my John, but we have found John's and Arthur's
since her DAR papers were filed. John Crocker and Clora ? we need her maiden
name and Arthur Crocker/Lucinda Crocker( a cousin). Lorean list her sources as
the family bible in the National Archives and "the spouses names of Patsy,
Polley, Nancy, and Susannah Crocker, listed above were copied from the
genealogy papers of the late Mrs. Iris Littlejohn McKown in Gaffney S.C. Mrs.
McKown was a cousin of mine her mother was a Miss Crocker".
Iris LIttlejohn McKeon is an author of a book ,supposingly titled, "A Crocker
Genealogy, Solomon Crocker's Descendents, Arthur Crocker and Susannah
Crocker's Line" listed in the Library of Congress; but I have sreached and
sreached but no one can find this book, I had my library to send a sreach out
last month and it is no longer in copyright , the book we did find she had
written is The Littlejohn Genealogy,> I am looking for it. I believe that is
were her Crocker's line is hidden in Chapters of the Littlejohn Book. Do you
know of this book?
Somehow we have Betsey Crocker (Solomon dau. ) married to a Betsey Chapman .
Isle of Wight Co. Marriages by Blanche Adams Chapman (1933) may have been
where you picked up the Chapman name, I looked at that book a few weeks ago
and if I remember correctly she had a Crocker line, she was about the same
time of Boddie (1938).
Myrtis P. Handley, 1953;
which her descendent Caroljean of our Crocker-l sent me her notes and looking
at them as I am posting this I found:
"History of S.C. Spartanburg Co. pg. 585
Arthur and Lucindia Crocker had Lt. Rufus Marion Crocker born 2-1-1838; had
son William E. Crocker- Baptist minister.
(A record is found in Pickens Co. , Ala. gives Elder Crocker of Yorkville as
beginning The First Baptist Church in this county, could it be the same
one?No one has been able to get information here yet.")Myrtis P. Handley -
1953.

In entering the names I must of had a "senior moment" and lost where I was. Is
Chapman her husbands last name? Or am I totally off?How does your line go?1.
Me2.Horace Norton Crocker/Maezell E. Tarr
3John Henry Crocker/Laura E. Gandy
4.Miles Crocker / Elizabeth B. Bryant
5.John Crocker/Clora ?
6.Solomon Crocker/ Suannah ?
Ever hear of --George Washington Bryant b. 1849 (ARK) d. 1922 m. Elizabeth
Crocker
b.1880
d. 1977,Buried at San Augustine,TX.No! but, I bet Alice Crocker Johnson knows
this line. Her Crocker line is our San Augustine County, Texas Crockers
arriving abt. 1835. As I e-mailed you last week Iam looking for the rest of my
Bryant line; our cousin who has all that line has not responded to my letters
in a number of years. Here is his name and last snail address. He is an
professor of Physics and Physical Sciences at a College near Campobello,
S.C.James L. Ried
730 Walnut Hill Rd.
Campobello, S.C. 29322 (1992 address)
He is of Solomon's William's line by Simeon by Greenbury/Elvina Bryant (my
Eliz. sister) by Canzada Jane Crocker/Robert S. Coggins (James L. Ried's
GreatGrandmother)
Had a file sent to us with alot of Bryants but only one married to a Crocker.
Would you like a copy?
Yes! Please; Thank you again, Blessed Be. love, Texann (Eveline Marie
Crocker)
