Hello everyone from New Zealand, 1st time caller..

OOPS reposted. Sorry Dean my other lists seem to handle posting to
the the digest address without a problem it seems :-(

I have been researching my CROCKER/COCKER family
who are fromTiverton,Devonshire and London, England for the last 6
months.

My Great Grandfather was a William Robert COCKER who was born 1849 at
Loughborough, an area in Tiverton, Devon home to many of the lace
workers at the Heathcote Mill. He arrived in New Zealand in 1873.His
sister Amelia arrive later in 1884. Sisters are Mary A, Lavinia and
Maria but I have only names and birth dates.

A brother Emanuel Cocker/Crocker is believed to have emigrated to
America and I believe that it was between 1871 and 1881. A tailor
according to information I have and is believed to have two daughter Dora
and Lilly. In England the Cocker's changed to Crocker every alternate
census :-(

I have quite a lot of information on hand about the Devonshire ancestors,
also some photo's. W.R Cockers fathe was a William Cocker born in
Chancery Lane, London abt 1814, Mother Mary, from Tiverton, Father
William of? His Aunt was Phillis Cocker whose husband was Caleb Cocker.
There is a connection to Rice and Hallet families but not all located
yet, but getting closer :-)

A Mary A Harding born 1870 at Portsmouth, England is also a relative I
have yet to fit into the tangled web...

I would like to like to find Emanuel. He was born abt 1858 at Tiverton.

Looking forward to any information and exchanging some of mine.
Best regards
