I hate to have to put this on the list but to the members who have requested
more on Drury this is the only way I can cover all of you at one time.I tried
several time to cc you but the mail bounced back for some reason.I have put
someof this on before
and to the members who allready have it just hit the old delete button
I put the will of Drury on first.now here is more tidbits
from the 1820 census of Isle of Wight we find Drury and his brother in
law,George
Barlow, both over 45,living in this county.Myrtis assumed that they must have
left Va.after the 1820 census and made thier way through the Carolina,s Ga
into
Alabama. She found Drury and Lucy, his wife, in Dallas Co.Alia. in 1825They were
living on White Oak creek near Old Cahaba town site we beleive. In the 1830
census of Dallas co.Ala. she found Lucy as head of the household so Drury had
passed away by then.Living next door was a John Barlow,Myrtis beleives this
was a brother of Lucy.Lucy was the administrator of Drury,s estate. The will
was made
July 9,1825.
From the ala.department of History 1820-1836 we find Lucy Crocker bought
the west half of NW section 22 township 14,range 10 on Oct.9,1828 the ammount
of $ 99.69.
The 1830 census of Dallas co.shows
Lucy Crocker--2 males,10-15--2 males 15-20,1 male 20-30,i female 10-15,1
female
40-50
the1840census of dallas Co shows
Lucy Crocker
1 male--20-30, 1 female 50-60
In the will book of Dallas co. she found Lucy,s will dated 9-17-1829 but Lucy
died sometime after the 1840 census-will include Lucy,s will next time along
with more on the family
