Nancy

Thank you so much for your posting this afternoon. I shall verify the early
names, dates, and places, and post what background I can for Maine John
Crockers, but John is one common name among Crockers!! (Most families, I
guess.)
The Cobb family lived in Barnstable MA together with the Crockers and
marriages between Cobbs and Crockers occurred. In fact William (1) married
2nd, Patience (Cobb) Parker, widow of Robert Parker, daughter of Patience
(Hurst) and Elder Henry Cobb.
Your information has added detail about these lines of the Crocker
families that I have not had until now, and I am most pleased to receive
it. Perhaps I may get back to you for more if I need it. You have access to
documents that I have not previously heard about.
That's what I find fascinating about genealogy and about the NET! We can
actually communicate and share, and get things straight.
One thing I think may be an error is the name of the town EASTMAN. I think
that should be EASTHAM, a town on Cape Cod about 35 miles East of the Town
of Barnstable.
I know nothing about a pirate Crocker of Newport RI... would love to find
out more about this story, wouldn't you? I'll see if I can find anything,
but I know I'd remember had I heard the story before.
Thanks again, and best wishes.Andrea
