Thanks Gary for your post... you will be busy for the next couple of
months, that's a certainty.
Machias is a long way off, and I'm unlikely to get there, but it's possible
some people who live nearer than I will see our search and "make it their
own" and then share it with us.
I'll welcome any information you can send along... please do see Nancy
Baurer's post today. She doesn't mention Simeon, but should she go down to
Machias, or get to the Searsport area again, perhaps she will find
something for all three of us. How many Crockers can there be up there...
that are not related to one another, anyhow?
I don't know of any VRs that are available on the net, in any towns, but
what a boon it would be for us genealogy "nuts." Sometimes, if you write a
letter to town clerks, and enclose a few $$ and a self-addressed stamped
envelope, you get useful information. I haven't attempted it yet in
Machias. Deeds and wills are another great source of information, of
course.
Have a good trip back to Canada... will watch for your next input...
