Hello again cousins,

We listowners have been informed that new filters have been installed to
help with the spam problem. In addition to there there are new filters
that are installed to trap posts that have any encription, .HTML
formating and attachments. We have not been bothered of late by any of
these but in the event that anyone should use them the message will be
returned. Thanks for your cooperation in these matters.

One problem we are having is that some of your mail servers are sending
different return addresses. For instance .MSN sometimes has
and other times it is simply
. The address that was used when you subscribed is
the only one that will go through to the list. You might check with
your ISP and ask if they use consistent return addresses and, if not,
let me know so that I can put the other addresses on the accept list if
possible.

One more thing, Brian Leverich, and the Rootsweb Genealogical Data
Conservative is providing an tremendous service for us. We have now
been on Rootsweb for a year. He recently emphasized that it is for
GENEALOGY only. Any other posts, such as Virus warnings, missing
children's announcements, or anything else no matter how important they
seem to the individual must not be posted to Rootsweb. These are but
paraphrase of his words. To put it this way: One listowner put an
announcement that is of vital interest to many Americans. He began the
message with: "Forgive me but" this is so important, and Bryant replied:
"YOU ARE NOT FORGIVEN." I think you can understant that with 3500 lists
and many thousands of subscribers such posts across many lists would
have as bad an affect as spam.

Thanks for your reading all the way to the end,

Dean
