Good afternoon Hans,

My apologies for being more than a month late in answering your querie about
Edwin Bryant. Crocker. Probably others have done so, already. In case not,
let me briefly tell you that he and his brother Charles were 7th generation
descendants of William Crocker of Barnstable, MA, He and Charles have always
been listed and identified as two among the Big Four of the Crockers who
were so successful in establishing the Central Pacific RR and the powerful
financial enterprise in California. Edwin Bryant Crocker was District
Attrney and counsel for the Central Pacific RR, and was also Chief Justice
of the California Supreme Court. His brother, Charles, established the
Crocker First National Bank. Chrles son Wm. Henry Crocker served as
president of the bank until his death in 1937; In the 1980, William Henry's
son, William Willard Crocker, continued as president.
