Many Thanks for your response, and the scans you provided. It is great to
now have some concrete information about the family while they were in
the USA.

We have never been able to understand why in the 1850s they went to
Connecticut (and seemingly nowhere else). Perhaps they left because of
the Civil War. Is it possible to search your index for other Rough families
there? I feel it must have been some unknown family connection that
enticed them there. I understand if this task is not possible or is too large to
undertake.
