Dear Mr. Rogers,

The U.S Census before 1850 only listed the Heads of Household by name. They did count family members, but did not list them by name. Here is one site that explains the census and displays the questions asked. http://www.genealogy.com/13_every.html It is booked marked on a special Census information page at the Center for CT Studies web site too. I checked these indexes.

Here is a list of nehemiah Rogers in CT.

1790 page p. 34 Bristol, Hartford Co. CT also a Lent Roger in same town. page 131 in New london CO. CT

1800. 2 in Tolland Co. One in New London Co.

1810: 1 in Norwich, New London CO., CT.

Good Luck with your research.

I am seeking information on Nehemiah Rogers and his wife, Rachel Augur. Both
were born in the Branford or North Branford areas of New Haven County.
May have been in Woodbury in 1782-84. No fdurther sightings since that time.
Nehemiah was a son of Ensign Josiah Rogers and grandson of Noah Rogers, early
resdents of Branfdord.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
ED E ROGERS
