Please - how much can someone trace on family of Gertrude Milton DOWNER
born 4-23-1906 to parents Harold and Inis (Dorman)? Harold born c. 1840,
worked for WPA as a street sweeper, d. 1924; Inis d. 1936. (They could
have been born in another state -- maybe Mass?)
Other siblings I know about are Robert born c. 1907 d. 1928 (killed in
car accident while in the service); Harry born c. 1912 and married to
"Rose"; Olive d. at age 8. There were other siblings but they were
adopted out and I don't know their names or how many there were.
Gertrude first married Alfred Booth (b. 1905 d. 10/4/1949). Daughters
Evelyn Blanche b. 11/1925 and Lorraine b. 1930.
Gertrude and Alfred separated in 1934 and were legally divorced 8 yrs.
later. She then married Don Juan Andress 4/3/1943 In United Congrational
Church, New Haven. He died of heart attack in 1953. She then married
Frank Alexander Mott 9/10/1967. He was hit by a car on vacation in
Manchester, New Hampshire, and died. Buried in Beaverdale Memorial Park,
New Haven 2/26/1979.
Gertrude died in Port Charlotte, Florida, 5/7/1979.
