Hello from Sydney Australia. I have joined the list to see if I can find
out any information on my gg-grandmother SARAH COLLINS and / or her family.

According to my g-grandfather's birth certificate (Australia) Sarah was born
in "the United States". However, on the birth certificates of his five
younger brothers, Sarah gives her birthplace on all five certificates as
"Hartford, United States of America". The only Hartford I know of is in CT,
but please tell me if I am wrong.

Her birth date would be 1832-1834. Her father's name was JOHN COLLINS and
her mother Sarah. Her father's profession was Bank Clerk. Unfortunately I
have no details on other family members.

She married in England in 1856.

Was her father "transferred" to USA in his profession? If so, were he and
the family still in USA in Hartford iin 1840 and 1850. Could somone do a
look up please? Of course he and his wife may have only stopped off in
Hartford long enough for Sarah to be born.

Or....is there another list where I could ask for help re birth lookups?
