Subject: [MTRIGA] Are OSTRANDER / FRINK houses still standing?
Date: Sun, 6 May 2001 22:32:17 -0700

Hello,

I'm curious if anyone might be able to tell me if the home owned by Hannah
SEE OSTRANDER and appearing on an 1874 map of Salisbury is still standing?

On the 1874 map, the house is located near the north end of Burton Brook on
the west side of the road that existed between the villages of Mount Riga
and Ore Hill.

The road name was not identified on the 1874 map. Today the road is
Reservoir Road out of Ore Hill but it apparently deadends south of Mount
Riga.

I'm curious if the house is still standing and, if so, is it near the
northern end of the present day Reservoir Road?

I'm also curious if a house owned by George FRINK around 1900 and situated
just south of Mount Riga Cemetery is still standing? George was the
son-in-law of my g-g-g-grandmother, Hannah See Ostrander, and she apparently
lived the last few years of her life in the house. Her funeral was held at
the Frink home.

Several years ago a house was standing along the road south of the cemetery
however I don't know if it is the same house once owned by George Frink.

Thank you,

Diane Gonthier
