Dear Dennis,
Searching and making copies of death depends on the years(s) you need. Large
libraries have the older records only, but don't usually have the extra
staff to do a search. Town Clerks have the newer records. If you do not have a
death date and town, you may want to hire a CT Professional Genealogist that
knows how to find this information for you.
Obituaries are a good source too.

Subject: Death certificates
What is the best way to obtain a copy of a CT death
certificate? Is it better to get it from a government
agency (pricey) or do some CT state libraries have
copies on microfilm and offer photocopies at a reduced
price?
I have done both in the past and have found the public
library method cheaper and more responsive. What is
the preferred method in CT?
Thanks!
