Has anyone found a documented source for the parents of this Joseph Marsh???

First Generation

1. Joseph MARSH was born on 6 Jan 1792 in Woodstock, Windsor,
Vermont.1 He died on 16 Oct 1821 in Covington, Kenton, Kentucky.2,3

Possibly son of Samuel, Capt. Abel or else grandson of Elisha or
Eliphalet who were brothers of Capt. Abel. His son William S. Marsh
writes from Indianapolis that his father was brought up "at Woodstock,
Vt., and was cousin to Prof. George Marsh." He was no doubt second
cousin to the Hon. George P. Marsh who was not a professor. He might
have been second cousin by being descended from either of the three
brothers of Gov. Joseph, Capt. Abel, Elisha or Eliphalet, sons of
Ensign Joseph, Capt. Joseph, John, John.
His son writes, "Joseph was in the war of 1812 under Gen. Harrison
and Maj. Croghan." Soon after returning, he married Miss Philena Yates.
Emigrated to Cattaraugus Co., N.Y., about 1818, probably to
Hinsdale, where his brother "Nelson" settled. About 1820, Joseph and
two brothers of his wife, with their familes, passed down the
Allegheny and the Ohiio in "family boats" and landed opposite
Cincinnati in Kentucky. He followed boating wood and stone into
Cincinnati, took violent cold and lung fever and died Oct 16, 1821.
His widow married in 1824, Luther Hopkins, a New Hampshire man, and in
1824 moved across the river into Ohio, leased a farm from William S.
Hatch of Cincinnati.

Joseph MARSH and Philena YATES were married.4 Philena YATES was born
on 22 Apr 1793.5 She died on 13 Feb 1836 in Cincinnati, Hamilton,
Ohio.6 Joseph MARSH and Philena YATES had the following children:

2. Joseph Wales MARSH (Joseph-1) was born on 23 Jan 1816 in

He learned the saddle and harness business in Cincinnati, Ohio and
made it his life work. In 1852 moved to Indianapolis. Had 11
children of whom four died in infancy, seven are living of who two are
boys.

Joseph Wales MARSH and Martha Ann ROLL were married in 1841.7 Martha
Ann ROLL was born. Joseph Wales MARSH and Martha Ann ROLL had the
following children:
