Hi Christine
Yes the house at 34 Fourth St. is still there as I drove by it
yesterday. It's a small tan colored single familyt dwelling with a small
porch on the front. The 1939 Waterbury city directory has him listed as "
Samuel paper stock 34 4th h do." This would probably mean he operated from
his home at that time.
Also listed at that address is a Sarah Davis. Waterbury had many folks
with the name of Davis in 1939.
The 1945 Waterbury city directory has a Samuel Davis dying on Jan 9, 1945,
age 72.
Leavenworth High school was renamed Croft High School after one Margaret
Croft and Crosby remained the same. The old Crosby was torn down and rebuilt
out in the east end of Waterbury.
