I saw an interesting solution to this problem on a list, in fact I think
it was this list.
The person gave the location as "Middletown(Berlin)" with a date. This
told me that the person lived in the section of Middletown that became
part of Berlin when the town of Berlin was Incorporated.
I have posted this before, but it's been a few months and new people
have joined the list. It is a must have, timesaving chart for anyone
doing research in CT that is available from the state library. I have
printed out a few copies . One I keep by my computer. Another I have in
my research notebook that I take when I go to the libraries. The chart
gives the name of the town, the date established, parent town(s), and
county.
