There is a Paulina Roth listed as a patient at the hospital ( now Connecticut Valley Hospital ) in the 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 census records. She was born around 1862 in Connecticut with both parents being born in Germany. It appears she was committed shortly before 1900 and spent the rest of her life in the hospital. Perhaps the social stigma of mental illness at the time led to the story of her early death?
