I think there's a site online where you can post "lost" photos. I read an
article about it in ancestry.com newsletter at some point but can't recall
the particulars. You might try a google search. I do know that one of the
contributors to the newsletter on Ancestry.com has reunited such lost things
to families. You might check with ancestry and see if someone has any
suggestions.

Subject: [CTNEWHAV] Need help with a mystery

Today, while I was visiting my mother in her assisted- living facility, an
aide came to the front desk with two massive photo albums which she had just

found in the dumpster. I LOVE stuff like this but I only had a few minutes
to
glance at the photos--well, old and new {all black abd white --nothing in
color}, wedding, baby etc. they were all neatly arranged. There had to be
at
least 1,000 family photos! I was amazed and also so sad to think that
someone would toss this treasure away. Most were not labeled but there was
a name
on the front and an envelope from a photo shop in California. I hesitate
to
post the name because I don't know the reason these were thrown away. They

wouldn't let me have the albums for obvious reasons but I know I could
identify the owner if given the chance. My first thought was that most of
the
residents are too frail to have carried these books out to the trash--I
can't help
but wonder who did this and why!

So do you think it is okay to post the name of the person? I already
looked
it up and the person is Greek, lived in New Haven Connecticut and is
probably close to 90 years old. I told the person at the desk that I would
try to
locate the person and she is going to look in her files to see if anything
rings a bell. JUDY
