I am searching for information on the Downie family in Norwich during
the years of 1850-1876. Their names are as follows.
David, Alexander, William, Dennis and James.
David, Alexander and Wiliam left Norwich for Hamilton Ohio in the late 1860
or early 1870's. They are listed on the Norwich directory as working in a
paper mill.
Does anyone know what mills may have been in operation at that time?
James died of poisoning on Feb. 19, 1876 in Norwich. How do I obtain a copy
of his obituary or a newspaper article concerning his death? How can I find
where he is buried?
Any help at all is much appreciated.
