I am suspicious that the Lyme Rock birth of Pember Waid may be in error.
Lime Rock is 100 miles or so from Lyme and it is unlikely that people living
in Joshuatown, married in Hamburg, which is nearby Joshuatown in Lyme (then
North Lyme), would have a son born in Lime Rock. Lyme, North Lyme, and
Hamburg have never been in Litchfield County, and aren't even close to it.
I don't know the Waids or Phelps in Joshuatown, but the Lord family is all
over Lyme until this day. My wife descends from Thomas Lord who arrived in
Hartford, CT in 1636. Many of his sons settled in Lyme. Unfortunately I
can't find your Anna Lord or Samuel in my data, but it is likely they
descend from Thomas Lord. You should try to find the the book transcribed
under the direction of Verne M. Hall & Elizebeth B. Plimpton, "Vital Records
of Lyme, Connecticut to the end of the year 1850", (American Revolution
Bicentennial Commission of Lyme, CT, 1976). It was reprinted by Heritage
Books in 1990 and I believe still available. I bet you'll find all of these
people in it.
