Marianne,

>>The wife of Joseph EASTON was Hannah ENSIGN, dau of James and Sarah
(__?__) Ensign. Sources used were Savage: who didn't committ himself,
and Early Settlers of Hartford which I found in CT Gen. Hist. Society's
bookshop. No further information on this couple (if indeed they were a
couple).
Joseph was early in CT d. 1658 Hannah was born in Eng. and came over
with her parents , James & Sarah Ensign.<<

The only sources I have on Joseph and Hannah other than what you have done
are Barbour's Families of Early Hartford and Torrey's New England Marriages
Prior to 1700. I do have other sources on other members of the family. Yes,
Joseph EASTON and Hannah ENSIGN were a couple. I doubt Hannah was born in
England for her older brother David was born in Hartford in 1644. I have a
line from this older brother's 2nd wife, Sarah WILCOX and her 1st husband
Thomas LONG. <Good luck in following that sentence> <g> Sarah and Thomas
were divorced and she married David ENSIGN after his first wife divorced
him. As ENSIGN isn't a direct line for me I haven't dug any deeper into
them. Following is a Registered Report in Genealogical format with endnotes
of what I have ENSIGNwise in my db:
