Hello,
I am hoping someone on this list can help to connect me to someone in this
family. The following individuals are buried at River Bend Cemetery in
Westerly, RI, in the lot with William Henry Lewis and Mary Palmer Lewis,
along with a child, Mary who died about 1 1/2 years old. Wm. and Mary are my
gr. grandparents. He is the son of Thomas Wilbur Lewis and Almira Slocum of
No. Stonington, CT.

Comas show line spacing on monuments.
Winifred R. Lewis, wife of, Howard Lewis, 1885-1950 [Howard was Wm and Mary's
grandson, from his first wife, Matilda Holdridge, through their son, Irving
Eugene Lewis. I have photos of this family.]

Edna Mae Lewis [it also shows her name as Collins on the cemetery record but
not on the monument. I'm not sure if this is perhaps her maiden name], July
1, 1915-March 1, 1968. [The cemetery was contacted in 1993 by a David A.
Lewis of Westerly, who has asked to be buried next to his mother, Edna and I
would like to locate him or his family if anyone knows of them].

Norman R. Lewis, 1912-1983 and his wife Margaret M., 1912-1987. [Norman is a
gr. grandson to Wm. and Mary Lewis, the son of Howard.]

Wm. Ed Lewis, Jan 6, 1946-June 23, 1985.

Mary Veronica Lewis, Connecticut, SP3 US COAST GUARD, WORLD WAR II, Dec. 11,
1922-Feb. 10, 1970. [Cemetery records also show her as Mary Madeiros Lewis.
I wonder if she is the mother of Wm. Ed. Lewis as they are buried beside each
other and the ages are about right.]

The cemetery lot is for 12 people and in the front row is: Wm. Ed Lewis/Mary
Veronica Lewis/Father [Wm]/Mother[Mary Palmer]/Mamie [Mary their
dau]/Margaret M. Lewis.

Back row is: Winifred/Edna/3 empty spaces/Norman.

I wonder if Edna May and Mary Veronica are sisters to Norman and they are
both the children of Winifred. I am trying to locate the David who contacted
the cemetery but have not located him at this time.

Any information on this family would be appreciated.
Mary Ransom Wescott
