Hi everybody,

Are genealogical societies really worth the money? I
currently live in the state of Virginia though almost
all my immediate family is from the New London County
area. It's a pain for me to have to wait months for
records from clerks, only to sometimes have them
rejected because the person I needed was born less
than 100 years ago. Not all cities are consistant
about that, though. I was thinking about joining a
society so I might get better access to my relatives
records but I wasn't sure if I should use my money if
they weren't right for me. And having my relatives go
down to the clerks' offices is out of the question. :)
Also, does anybody know which genealogical societies
the state of Connecticut will accept? Much thanks.

Christina in Virginia
