Recently a family Bible belonging to George E. Sanderson was located in an antique shop in New London, Connecticut. The Bible has since been reunited with a descendent of George. Named in the family section are the following:
George E. Sanderson, his first wife Martha J. Hildreth, and their four children, Martha Augusta, Edwin James, Lucy Adelade, and George Eugene Sanderson. Martha Hildreth Sanderson died January 20, 1861 and George remarried May 11, 1861, Susan Brazer Stickney. Two children from this marriage were Arthur B.,and Frank H. Sanderson. Also listed were three children of a C. Emmerick.
George has been located in the 1850 U.S.Census as being 24 years old and residing in Dorchester, Mass. He also has been reported as having lived in Waltham and Fitchburg, Mass., then he just dissapears. (beamed up by a UFO?) The time frame of this would be from 1828 to 1900 and perhaps later. My only interest in this is, how, when, and why did the Bible end up in New London, Connecticut.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Prentice Alexander
