In 1670 my gggggg Grandmother, Hannah (Palmer) Hewitt/Huitt petitioned the General Court of the Connecticut Colonies for permission to remarry. Her husband, Capt. Thomas Hewitt was presumed lost at sea in 1662.The court approved her petition on May 12, 1670 and a copy is available in Colonial Connecticut Records Vol. 2 Page 129. However, I believe the original petition would contain more valuable data. I have been unable to obtain a copy of her petition. I welcome any suggestions.
