Howard is certainly correct. Thomas Miner is buried in the Wequetequock
Cemetery. Who ever asked first about this I can tell you where it is
located in Stonington and give you much more information about the area and
cemetery but it is best to email me personally. No need to fly there to
prove it. I am sure many people on this list can help you. It is an
important cemetery in Stonington. This is the area where some of the first
settlers had their homes. I have seen the site. He is buried under a large
wolfstone with his name carved on one side and his wife's Grace Palmer's
carved on the other. I have an early 1930's photo of the wolf stone taken
by my greatuncle, Roy Miner, that I can scan and send to the person who
wants to know about it. The carving shows up very well, better than it does
now. I also have more recent colored photos but the day was rainy so they
are not the brightest. Someone in Stonington has a CD-ROM for sale listing
the graves at the Denison, Wequetquock, and Old Taugwonk cemeteries and this
service is mentioned under Library Notes in the Bulletin of the Stonington
Historical Society's, "Historical Footnotes," for Aug. 2002. If you email
me I will give you his name and address. Go to www.expedia.com and click on
the maps tab at the top , then on the next page, click on find a map, on the
next page fill in the hole for area, North America, place Wetequequock,
Connecticut, USA you will get a map of where it is. It is right off of
Route One on a road to the right between Stonington and Pawcatuck, CT and
the next town would be Westerly, RI right over the border.

eastern part of StoningtonCT and east of Stonington Village, so those
reports are consistent. Poquetanock Cemetery is a different location
entirely.
