Don't overlook the possibility that this is truly Anguilla the island - The
shipping trade to the Caribbean in the 18th and 19th century was brisk and
in fact Joshua Hempstead's diary (written daily in New London from 1711-1758)
lists countless departures, arrivals, deaths in and births from these
